Taking Remote Browser Isolation (RBI) to the next level in SASE

Get a Demo of Forcepoint Solutions

Remote browser isolation, or RBI for short, has dramatically changed the face of web security. It’s most often used in secure web gateways, such as our own Forcepoint Cloud Security Gateway, to enable people to visit websites safely, even ones that have been compromised by malicious code or content. RBI is commonly used when dealing with websites that aren’t known to be either “good” (and can typically be safely allowed) or “bad” (and are usually blocked), allowing such uncategorized sites to be used without fear. But that’s just the beginning of what it can do.

Forcepoint acquires CyberincToday, we announced that Forcepoint has acquired Cyberinc, a true innovator in the remote browser isolation industry. Their unique Isla Smart Isolation technology is context-aware, enabling the isolation to be dynamically adapted according to the risk associated with each page—and even elements within the page. When combined with the granular control they give administrators, Isla enables businesses and government agencies to minimize risk from ransomware, malware, and other malicious code while preserving browsing performance and user productivity.

Cyberinc Isla Isolation Platform - How it works

As our CEO, Manny Rivelo, noted, this is all part of “executing on our vision for the industry’s most comprehensive Data-first SASE offering that delivers risk-based data security everywhere, over every channel, to give customers consistent enforcement anywhere their people work."

"The acquisition of Cyberinc’s Smart Isolation capabilities is the first of many investments Forcepoint will make to enhance user productivity, lower operational burdens and eliminate traditional monolithic products through a best-in-class SASE cloud service.”

As a company that sees automation and personalization powered by risk-based intelligence to be the future of cybersecurity, we’re excited about Isla’s potential to go beyond just keeping “bad stuff” out. We plan to integrate it widely throughout our Data-first SASE platform and will say more about that later.

From a people perspective, we’re proud to welcome employees of Cyberinc to Forcepoint. Cyberinc’s technical team in India will form the foundation of our new engineering center in Mumbai. Their expertise in developing cloud-native security-as-a-service will augment our efforts to take our unique Data-first SASE architecture to the next level.

Enabling people to safely use data everywhere so that they can work anywhere is one of Forcepoint’s core missions. With Cyberinc’s people and technology, we’ll be able to do even faster and better. For more information, please see our announcement
